In the competition What an Invention!, you’ll meet people who may seem ordinary but who are incredibly passionate, resourceful, and persistent when it comes to their extraordinary skills and inventions. Cling film that doesn’t come off the roll easily, fruit flies that keep coming back, dripping paintbrushes after an afternoon of DIY, or that wobbly kitchen step stool when you clean the windows. These are pet peeves for the inventors on What an Invention!. In their sheds, attics, or workrooms, they passionately work on finding solutions that will soon make such irritations a thing of the past. The host visits them to get acquainted with their world and creative ideas. In the studio, within themes such as kitchen, DIY, and safety, the inventors present their products to both a professional and a public jury. They examine, test, and assess. How unique is it? And how significant is the problem that the invention truly solves? s it truly something we don’t know yet? And why should we all buy this?
The professional jury consists of an inventor/designer, Action’s head of purchasing, and a rotating familiar face within the episode’s theme. The public jury consists of one hundred people who have an affinity and experience with the theme. The inventors of the six best-rated inventions compete in the grand finale for the ultimate grand prize: the product will actually go into production and be sold across Europe.
